Keeping myself busy during COVID times.

I’m very fortunate to work in an essential industry and remain employed since everything closed. I work as a nurse in a surgery center and while our census was VERY low, I worked at the COVID testing drive thru. I always have had enough PPE and have felt very safe. That said, there are a lot of hours in the day/week that I’m not at work, and of course our living space is really small and everything was closed. It took me quite awhile to find my groove and do something other than veg out on the sofa, but I’m doing a much better job of staying busy.

I bought a sewing machine and am teaching myself to sew. You Tube videos have been a great help. I also took one in-person sewing class back in January that was a great base. So far I’ve made one pretty disastrous skirt (poor fabric choice for a first effort) and I’ve gotten pretty good at masks. I even have my masks for sale (pay what you can) at the mailing place in the marina. It’s very satisfying that people want to buy something I’ve created.

I also have been working out with You Tube videos. My favorites are no bar barre classes, short ab workouts, and flexibility classes. I’m getting stronger, though not really more flexible. I’m trying to regain the strength I lost when I was grounded with a frozen shoulder.

50-50 skirt…looks 50% better from 50 feet away

I’m also the tool monkey/cable puller for Shawn’s projects. In the process, I’m learning a few things. 😆
